Apple abandoned those flavors of OS X some time ago. The last security update for El Capitan, the youngest of the three, was in July 2018. By tradition, Apple supports only the three latest versions with security updates. Currently, the trio in support are Catalina (10.15), Mojave (10.14) and High Sierra (10.13) from 2019, 2018 and 2017, respectively.
Latest Firefox For Mac Os Sierra

The Firefox port for OpenBSD is maintained by Landry Breuil since 2010. Firefox is regularly built for the current branch of the operating system, the latest versions are packaged for each release and remain frozen until the next release. In 2017, Landry began hosting packages of newer Firefox versions for OpenBSD releases from 6.0 onwards, making them available to installations without the ports system.[237]
Shortly afterwards, the Mozilla Foundation invited Garrity to head up the new visual identity team. The release of Firefox 0.8 in February 2004 saw the introduction of the new branding efforts. Included were new icon designs by silverorange, a group of web developers with a long-standing relationship with Mozilla. The final renderings are by Jon Hicks, who had worked on Camino.[265][266] The logo was later revised and updated, fixing several flaws found when it was enlarged.[267] The animal shown in the logo is a stylized fox, although "firefox" is usually a common name for the red panda. The panda, according to Hicks, "didn't really conjure up the right imagery" and was not widely known.[266]
My parents have an older iMac (2.5 GHz i5 , 4 GB DDR3 ram) that they do not want to change; the most updated Mac OS they can run is Sierra; thus the latest version of Safari they can run is 12.1.2 (the current is 16.1). Is there a more modern browser they can run?
Firefox Extended Support Release (ESR): is an official version of Firefox developed for large organizations like universities and businesses that need to set up and maintain Firefox on a large scale. Firefox ESR does not come with the latest features, but it has the latest security and stability fixes. Usually these branches are supported for a year, with a planned release calendar for new ESR branches. For more information you should review the release cycle documentation.
(EDIT 2: My guess as to why these versions are so popular is because 10.11 El Capitan was the last supported version on a number of macs, probably not stubbornness or laziness. There's a workaround that brings these Macs to the latest macOS but it's not vetted by Apple, so it's all at the user's own risk)
Same problem after latest Google Chrome update. Nothing happens when I click the mini in the extension. I am using OS Sierra. Extension version 4.7.5.90. Using 1Password 7.7I can open it in Safari sometimes but it no longer autofills. Have restarted everything (my laptop, quit and rebooted Chrome, quit 1Password.
I have the same problem. OS Sierra, Chrome version 87.0.4280.67. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the latest versions of 1password Chrome extension and then tried to uninstall the 1password extension and use 1passwordX browser extension. The 1password chrome extension work at all (nothing happens when I click on the extension icon), and the 1password Mini doesn't open at all. 1password X does work to autofill passwords but doesn't prompt to save passwords on new logins. Have restarted my laptop and uninstalled and reinstalled 1password app on desktop.
I was also surprised by this. I'm on Sierra and the auto-upgrade caused extensions to stop working. I realize it's an old OS and maybe hard to support. Can I downgrade 1pw? (I'm on MacOS 10.12.6; latest Chrome).
v7.6 isn't officially supported on Sierra either unfortunately. Our system requirements list High Sierra as the minimum required for v7. That said, we haven't (yet) blocked it from being installed as we certainly would rather folks run the latest version possible vs running e.g. 1Password 6. Unfortunately as less and less things work on Sierra we will likely have to do that for future v7 releases.
You mentioned that you're using a MacBook Pro. We have seen a lot of people in the last few months who are running older versions of the Mac OS. Canvas only supports the latest two versions of the major browsers (Safari, Chrome, Firefox) and the latest versions of the browsers may not be available for the older operating system. Right now, here are the minimum versions of the browsers supported by Canvas.

Note: the SRWare Iron browsers are based on the Chromium project, however, they do not implement all the restrictions that Chrome implements to prevent MySpeed from working with them. They do however, use the Utility: AudioService task to play audio. This prevents MySpeed from working them as of their latest versions. However, this can be disabled via a command line parameter so that MySpeed will work. You can launch SRWare Iron from the command line (the Terminal application on your Mac) like so:SRWare Iron: /Applications/Chromium.app/Contents/MacOS/Chromium --disable-features=AudioServiceOutOfProcess
However, that is not a very good long term solution. We are providing a clickable Launchers that you can put into your Applications folder that will launch SRWare Iron with those command line parameters for you:SRWare Iron (MySpeed) Launcher
Download the zip file for your preferred browser and double click to unzip the file; the unziped application file can be then moved to your applications folder and used to launch the respective browser. You will likely need to right-click and select Open the first time you run them as you Mac will claim they are created by an unidentified developer.Sorry for the trouble and thank you for your patience.
If closing tabs and clearing the cache didn't work, it's a good idea to update Firefox and macOS to its latest versions. When Firefox is active, just click on Firefox in the menu and select About Firefox. The latest available update should start downloading automatically. When it's ready, click Restart to Update Firefox and you are ready to go.
I'm running macOS 10.12.5 Sierra with Firefox 54.0 on a MacBook Air. A Firefox icon is present in the Dock. When launching Firefox from this icon (or double-clicking the icon in the Applications folder), it immediately crashes. However, if I launch it via the command line ($ ./firefox in the app folder), it does not crash. Launching via open -a Firefox also crashes.
